Getty ImagesAugusta Transit introduced three stops to Route 9, the Red Line. Changes went live on May 4.
The updated inbound route stops at Bulldog Way, Harold Road near Tasty Wings, and Peach Orchard Road at Sherwin-Williams Paints. Officials wanted riders to reach Barneys Pharmacy on Peach Orchard Road with less hassle.
Buses start at Stop 1282 on Lumpkin Road near Butler High School, then swing right onto Bulldog Way. Stop 1649 sits at 2708 Bulldog Way behind Big Lots.
Next, buses hang a left onto Harold Road. Stop 1650 waits at Tasty Wings, putting Barneys Pharmacy within walking distance for passengers.
The route continues left onto Peach Orchard Road. Stop 1651 appears at Sherwin-Williams Paints, address 2709 Peach Orchard Road. Buses then merge right onto Lumpkin Road and resume the usual inbound path.
New signs popped up at each location. Riders know where to board and get off.
These tweaks maintain current service links while boosting efficiency for travelers in this corridor.
