The event celebrates "School of Fish" by PK Kordys with his team at Da Vinci Studios and a second work by Wesley L. Stewart and Colleen Beyer-Stewart of September Art Studios.
The Georgia Rehabilitation Institute funded both pieces. "School of Fish" was installed this past winter. The Stewart artists' installation is new.
"School of Fish" reflects the park's wetland ecosystem. The work by Wesley L. Stewart and Colleen Beyer-Stewart offers an artistic response to the natural environment and conservation efforts.
"We are thrilled to celebrate not just one, but two incredible works of art in a place that so beautifully connects creativity and nature," said Heather Dunaway, Gallery & Public Art Director with the Greater Augusta Arts Council, per a release. "These installations enhance the visitor experience at Phinizy while reinforcing the role that public art plays in inspiring viewer curiosity."
The ceremony will take place in the front parking area. The two pieces join other sculptures located within the park. The site now has a growing public art trail.
