Jones Creek Golf Course Reopens in Evans After Seven-Year Closure
The Evans, Georgia, course closed in 2018 but has been revived by new managers

Jones Creek Golf Course has reopened after sitting empty for seven years. The Evans, Georgia, course closed in 2018 but has been revived by new managers. Bond Golf Global took over operations and spent months bringing the championship course back to life.
Workers installed fresh turf grass across the grounds. The new surface rolls faster and more smoothly than before. Three holes, 4, 12, and 13, got additional tee boxes.
"The vision for us has been to have a golf course that's accessible for people to come and learn, enjoy it, and play golf. We're not a country club, we're not professing to be a country club. We want golf for all, essentially. We want people to be able to come and play," said Andrew Brooks, CEO of Bond Golf Global, per WRDW.
The property went through rough times after it was sold. Flooding wrecked sections of the course.
"I think this is going to be another gem for Columbia County, like it was 15-20 years ago. We're just excited about having golf back here in Jones Creek and for Columbia County," said Tripp Nanney, president of the Jones Creek Homeowners Association.
Nanney talked about how different the course will appear. "The golf course is gonna play a lot different for those people who played it 15 years ago because of the number of trees that are gone. It's gonna look completely different, and it's gonna be brand new after being brand new, after being closed for seven years," he said.
The clubhouse underwent work, too. It's ready for weddings, parties, and other gatherings. Memberships are available but limited in number.
