Both sit open at no charge. No time caps exist, though visitors should park with courtesy. Lot A rests at 116 James Brown Blvd. Lot B stands at 865 Reynolds St., per WRDW.
Crews started median work between Fifth and Sixth Streets on Monday. The project requires closing the inside lanes in both eastbound and westbound directions so workers can operate safely.
Outside lanes in both directions remain open. Drivers can still park curbside next to buildings, and sidewalks leading to storefronts won't be barricaded.
The new parking arrived as the city attempts to minimize damage to commerce along Broad Street. Shop owners worried about customers reaching them during construction.
arOfficials urged drivers to watch for shifting traffic flows as median work progresses. The construction is part of a broader push to upgrade downtown roads and utilities.
