The award goes to a 911 center that demonstrates strong work in emergency response coordination, training, technology, and community outreach. Judges picked this facility from agencies statewide.
"This recognition reflects the work our team does every single day," said Daniel Dunlap, the 911 director for Augusta, in the Augusta news release. "Our communications officers are the first point of contact during some of the most difficult moments in a person's life. They provide reassurance, direction, and critical coordination until help arrives."
Dunlap added that he's proud of how dedicated his team is, how they stay strong when it matters most. The center field calls during some of the toughest moments people will ever face.
This honor also celebrates excellence in public safety communications, innovation, leadership, and service. Staff serve as that crucial initial connection between residents and emergency responders.
The Georgia Emergency Communications Conference draws agencies from across the state. Winners get picked based on consistent work and commitment to professional standards.
The conference happened in Athens. It brought together emergency communications professionals from throughout Georgia. Award winners were honored for their contributions to public safety.
